Our carefully defined work procedures and policies guarantee we perform our plant OTR tyre services in the safest, most consistent and professional manner.

Plant OTR tyre construction
Plant OTR tyres operate in the most hostile environments for tyres. Engineered with sturdy sidewalls and thick rubber tread they are highly durable providing high levels of resistance to impact damage and punctures. They feature excellent lateral stability to carry their heavy loads during operation.
Horndean Tyres can recommend the most appropriate tyre construction for your specific application. Our in-depth knowledge will give your heavy plant, earthmovers, industrial equipment and port handling machinery the best and safest operational performance.
Radial plant OTR tyres
Radial plant OTR tyres offer higher TKPH ratings, provide better levels of operator comfort and benefit from reduced fuel consumption due to lower rolling resistance. They benefit from being less susceptible to pressure loss and have a higher success rate for tyre repairs. They are a little dearer than the equivalent bias tyre.

Bias plant OTR tyres
Bias plant OTR tyres, also known as crossply tyres, are widely recognised for their robust construction and long service life. They offer excellent lateral stability and carry the most weight with the compromise that the operator ride is slightly firmer.
Pneumatic plant OTR tyres are available with four tread patterns:
- Traction for earthmover machinery on soft ground
- Smooth for hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt
- Block feature a large footprint for use on very soft ground
- Rock provides maximum resistance to cuts and damage

Solid tyres
Solid tyres are puncture-proof and offer a virtually maintenance-free service life. They carry the heaviest loads over shorter distances on even surfaces. Widely used on waste recycling sites, forklifts and port terminal trailers.

Plant OTR tyre stocks
We stock a selection of popular plant OTR tyres in a range of sizes for same day fitting when required – typically 3 tonne dumper tyres, 6 tonne dumper tyres and 9 tonne dumper tyres as well as telehandler tyres. However, due to the wide range of heavy plant, earthmovers, industrial equipment and port handling machinery we work with, we choose to access tyre stocks from the regional warehouses of our supply chain.
Purchasing to order ensures we fit the best new plant OTR tyres and retread plant OTR tyres for each application. You can trust Horndean Tyres to fit the tyres you need.

End of life tyre disposal
Horndean Tyres strive to ensure your plant OTR tyres achieve the longest possible service life. However, at the end of their design life around 95% of every tyre is recycled with the rubber reused in sport surfaces and soft playground flooring, road construction, roofing products, industrial sealants as well as tyre-derived fuels.
