Agricultural tyre construction
Our in-depth tyre knowledge will give your machinery and equipment the best operational performance. We recommend the most appropriate tyre construction for your specific application.
Increased Flexion (IF) agricultural tyres
Stronger tyre sidewalls allow the tyres to carry up to 20% more load at the same inflation pressure, or the same load at a 20% lower pressure. This flexibility helps to reduce soil compaction and improve crop yield.
Very High Flexion (VF) agricultural tyres
These are engineered with the strongest tyre sidewalls which enable the tyres to perform with 40% more load or at a 40% lower pressure, an upgrade from increased flexion tyres.
Flotation agricultural tyres
These feature a wider footprint and smoother tread pattern to distribute the vehicle’s weight more evenly. They enable the vehicle to float over soil and mud to reduce surface compaction and disturbance.
Narrow agricultural tyres
With a significantly smaller footprint, these are commonly used on dry ground during the spring and summer seasons. They allow more seedlings to establish successfully thus supporting better crop yields.
Radial agricultural tyres
While radial agricultural tyres offer excellent grip and benefit from reduced fuel consumption, they do tend to be dearer. They benefit from being less susceptible to pressure loss and have a higher success rate for tyre repairs.
Bias agricultural tyres
Bias agricultural tyres, also known as crossply tyres, are widely recognised for their robust construction and ability to carry the most weight thanks to their excellent stability. The compromise is operator ride is slightly firmer.
Agricultural tyre stocks
We stock a selection of popular agricultural tyres in a range of sizes for same day fitting when required. However, due to the wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment we work with, we choose to access agricultural tyres from the regional warehouses of our supply chain.
Purchasing to order ensures we fit the best new agricultural tyres and retread agricultural tyres for each application. You can trust Horndean Tyres to fit the tyres you need.

Replacement agricultural wheel rims
Horndean Tyres can supply a second set of agricultural tyre and wheel rim assemblies to replace the existing wheels, and bolt on wide wheel assembles to add to the current wheels, all designed to facilitate seasonal changes of use with your machinery and equipment. Horndean Tyres are dedicated to enabling your farming business to keep working and maximise your yields.

End of life tyre disposal
Horndean Tyres strive to ensure your agricultural tyres achieve the longest possible service life. However, at the end of their design life around 95% of every tyre is recycled with the rubber reused in sport surfaces and soft playground flooring, road construction, roofing products, industrial sealants as well as tyre-derived fuels.
